Schenectady County Public Library provides reference services to the residents of Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady and Schoharie counties. Library patrons may:

Book a Librarian

Register with a librarian for personalized reference assistance that is uninterrupted.
Book a forty-five minute one-on-one session to get assistance in one of the following areas:

  • Browsing the Web/Internet Basics
  • Using one of the library’s databases
  • Setting up or using your email account
  • Downloading e-books, audiobooks and movies to your device (Hoopla or Libby)
  • Using Microsoft Word or Excel
  • Job applications or resume assistance
  • Appointments are available on weekdays at our Central Library. Register for your appointment online using our events calendar HERE, or call the Reference Desk at 518-388-4511 to schedule an appointment

    Please note that the library does not provide medical, legal, investment, or tax advice; however, staff will be happy to show you resources that can help with these topics.

    The library staff does not offer maintenance or troubleshooting of personal devices.

    A patron may make no more than two appointments per month.
