Would you like a chance to eat lunch with Jamie Ford? Read and discuss Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet with a group then register your group for a chance to win lunch with Jamie Ford on Saturday, March 27 at noon.
Deadline to enter: Saturday, March 20. Winners will be drawn at 4pm.

Read the book with your group or organization

You don't need to belong to a book club to participate. Host a book discussion with your friends, coworkers, church group, class or other community group before March 20 and your group may enter to win. For your convenience, we have even designed an invitation for you to print and use.

Do you need copies of the book?

• Reserve a Book Kit from the library. The kits include the requested number and type of books and a binder with discussion questions. The kits may be borrowed for 4 weeks. They can only be picked up and returned to the Central Library Circulation Desk at 99 Clinton St. in Schenectady. Book Kit Request Form.
• The Open Door Bookstore is offering a 20% discount on our title for anybody wishing to buy the book. You may pre-order a copy by calling the store at 346.2719. Books will also be available for purchase at full price at the March 27 program.

Spice up your discussion by ordering takeout from Mari's Japanese Restaurant. (381-4881. Sushi, teriyaki and tempura are examples of menu choices you will find at Mari's, among other traditional Japanese cuisine. Takeout available. Serving lunch 11:30-1:30 Mon-Fri; dinner 4:45-8:45 Mon-Thu, 4:45-9:15 Fri-Sat, closed Sunday.)

If you don't belong to a book club, you may register to attend one of our facilitated book discussions and dinner at our partner restaurant, Mari's Japanese Restaurant.
Dates: Wednesday, April 7 and Monday, April 12 at 6:30pm
Location: 2049 Van Vranken Ave. Schenectady
Price: $20 (includes tax and tip). Payment is due at the time of registration. Checks payable to the SCPL Friends of the Library. Register at the Reference Desk, Central Library. Questions? Call 388.4511.
