The Schenectady County Public Library is the Central Library of the Mohawk Valley Library System and provides services to
residents of Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady and Schoharie
Counties in upstate New York.
The library shares a computer system with the Southern Adirondack Library System (based in
Saratoga Springs), which serves Hamilton, Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties.
The mission of the Schenectady County Public Library is to satisfy our community's educational
informational, cultural and recreational needs by providing free and open access to a
comprehensive range of materials, services and programs.
The Central Library is located in downtown Schenectady at 99 Clinton St. (corner of Liberty
and Clinton Streets), across from City Hall and the Post Office. We also have nine branch
libraries.
Our Friends of the Library provide a great deal of support for the library.
